USPSA NORTHEAST SECTION POINTS SERIES – 2008

Continuing our efforts to showcase the variety of our Northeast Section clubs, we are establishing a point series that rewards competitors who make the effort to travel around our region. First and Second prizes in this point series will be 5,000 Winchester primers in the winner’s choice of either small pistol, small rifle, or large pistol (a $135 value – and rising).

USPSA members may submit their best 2 results from each of 6 different Northeast Section clubs plus two additional wildcard results that may be from any Northeast Section club(s) for a total of 14 possible results. To clarify, submit no more than 4 results from one club (probably your “home” club), and no more than 2 results from each of the other clubs. All matches must be from the 2008 calendar year and matches already complete are eligible.

Obviously, the real key to earning the most points is to attend at least two matches at a bunch of clubs, which of course is the whole idea. BUT, you need not submit a full 14 possible results to be in the running for the points series. 8 or 10 or 12 good results may outweigh 14 lower results.

Points will be awarded according to the competitor's finishing position within the Division.  First place will earn 5 points. Second will earn 4 points.  Third will earn 3 points. Fourth will earn 2 points. Fifth and all other positions will earn 1 point.  The results will be tabulated into a point tally where the top two point earners will each receive the 5,000 Winchester primers of their choice.

Competitors may submit results from different Divisions at different matches so there is no need to shoot one Division all year. (Competitors may not submit more than 1 result from a single match day – i.e., two different Divisions at one match.)

The point system may not be fair across all Divisions, but the intent is to make shooting Revolver in Bass River as rewarding to the average competitor as shooting Open in Augusta.  And hopefully, nobody will complain about "unfairness" because the first and second prizes are the same and there is no entry fee.

The Northeast Section cannot maintain a running tally of this program. At the end of the season, simply send an e-mail message to Dan Hurley at sharkbike@aol.com with the following information for each of the 14 results:
Match Date
Host Club
Division
Finishing Position

I will verify your entries using the uspsa-ne.org website and tally the results.

So get out there and visit our clubs, and have some fun earning points while you’re at it!
